Do not invite yourself to stay with friends when you travel anymore. Presumably you have a job, and the means to procure yourself a hotel. If so, do so. If not, stay home.

I so agree with this rule for those aged 25 and over

Well, I’m lucky enough to have friends who don’t issue empty invitations. I haven’t seen justalittletaste in over 2 years, and when I recently thought there was a slight chance we might be in her neck of the woods, I asked if we could stay with her and her partner, based on an open invitation given years ago. She’s a good enough friend to tell me if it wasn’t do-able.

We have issued several standing invitations to people over the years, and I hope they know that we’re 100% sincere, and if for some reason we couldn’t host them, we’d be honest about it.

So maybe that list should say, “Surround yourself with real friends that you can depend on instead of people who say things to be polite and then secretly resent you.”

Yeah, I guess I will not be staying at your fuckers’ place when I come to town.

Dicks.
